Experience
Nat grew up in the Carribean, spending much of his youth in Bermuda, the Bahamas and the Cayman Islands. He also spent nine years playing in New Orleans. All of these experiences have shaped his music style. Nat has performed with the Count Basie Band, Natalie Cole, Diana Krall, The Marsalis Family, and the Neville Brothers. Simpkins’ Sax sound is influenced by Grover Washington, Najee, Gene Ammons, and Stanley Turrentine. He has recorded over 15 CDs as a leader for Muse records and Bluejay Records. Nat has also performed on “Good Morning America” as part of the Mardi Gras coverage. He has performed in New Orleans at Jazzfest, Satchfest, and major venues including Tipitinas, the House of Blues, at the Village Vanguard, Birdland and the Blue Note in NYC, and Cecil’s Jazz Club in New Jersey. He headlined at Boston’s “Steppin’ Out” concert sharing the stage with Delfeayo Marsalis, Ellis Marsalis, Tito Puente Jr. and many others. He also performed at the All Star Jazz Blowout for Boston Jazzweek. He is ready to share his talents and positive energy with the world! You can party all night long with this Band!
